The Lexus GX 470 is a powerful midsize vehicle capable of both on- and off-road performance. Sporting a 263-hp 4.7-liter V8 engine, the GX 470 is loaded with more than just power.


The 2006 model features amenities galore. Take the Rear Adaptive Height Control, for instance. This feature was designed to add an additional 1.6 inches of clearance when navigating through tough terrain. Other features include heated outside mirrors, a towing package and a leather interior.


In 2006, Lexus introduced four new exterior colors: Cypress Pearl, Nautical Blue, Savannah Metallic and Titanium Metallic. Neal Oddes of J.D. Power and Associates said, “The GX does well on the engine and transmission side. The smoothness of shifting the gears is the top-rated attribute for the GX owners. They really like how smoothly the vehicle operates and also the way in which the exhaust sounds when shifting the gears.”


The 2006 Lexus GX 470 received a five-star rating in the Mechanical Quality-Design category, according to the J.D. Power and Associates Circle Power Rating system.
