I have a new 06 GX 470 and I read that it has a 23 gallon tank yet when I fill my truck up the gauge in the dash that tells you miles till you need to fill up is 279 yet the website will say 345-435 is with a filled tank. May I ask what's the deal. Am I missing something?

I may be wrong, but I'll take a shot at explanation. The computer actually "looks" at your driving habits (measured in terms of mpg) and uses historical data to predict how long you will get with the amount of fuel in the tank. If you drive with mpg considerations...slower starts, lower top speed, etc. you will find your predicted miles to empty wil change.

I think you are right. Just dial up the average MPG on your GX's computer and multiply by 23 and you get your range.
